Online Image Generators

WOW...That was a blast. I went to fake magazine cover and plastered some friends on a magazine. This could be another one those addicting places to pay online. The possibilities are unlimited!!!

Overdrive

I have been a digital junkie at sno-isle since it first launched. I remember having to go into the library to get assigned a logon to even be able to get access. That was a while ago!!

It is very good news that iPod compatible audio books are coming soon. I have heard complaints about that for so long from our patrons. They will be just thrilled. And Pop Music Label for Downloads is a very welcome addition. I think you will see some good traffic there.

In my own opinion, we have a good selection but I wish we could get more of the new books on our audio site. I don't know if it's an availability issue, but that continues to be my wish.

I have found it interesting that alot of our patrons don't even know about the digital site. We try to push it whenever possible. (without being too intrusive)

del.icio.us

Doing a search between google and del.icio.us brought back mixed results. I am a dedicated googler. Always have been and always will be. Call me old fashioned...but I did get some worthy hits on del.icio.us. Not enough to convert me, but I did bookmark a few.

If a person needed a list that was always available online, this would be a good idea. Someone who did not have their own computer or maybe they are traveling.

That's what I got out it. I wish I could have found more uses, but then again I admit I am jaded. My favorites is not out of control and I plan to keep it that way.

Wiki's

I did some looking at wiki's, specifically the St. Joseph County Public Library's wiki. I seems that they are doubling their work efforts. Alot of the community info is right out of the blue pages. Other links took you to books, subscriptions and databases. (In our case, already on the homepage) I don't know, that page is not so impressive.

However, I like the idea of a collaborative site for special programs where many people need to come together for a specific purpose. Like a trade show, or maybe a special gathering.

YouTube, Hulu and Fancast

Well I'm still looking for the Millcreek Library Sasquatch. Any more sightings anyone?

Watched a few videos on YouTube. Check em out at:

Dont really watch TV so Hula and Fancast are not for me. However I did check them out and found both sites to be extremely slow and cumbersome. Sorry, but not my style.
